Celeste Hansel
Inspired by color and texture I work with threads and fabrics to create unique works of fiber. Many pieces are hand dyed to achieve the desired colors and stitched by hand. Creating with basic materials is a time and labor intensive process allowing the finished piece to evolve.
Trained in classical needlework, I’ve completed many courses from the Embroiderer’s Guild of America and American Needlepoint Guild. I’ve taken workshops in weaving, dyeing, spinning, beading, kumihimo, felting, tassels, lace and baskets. I enjoy all of these techniques and they often coalesce in my work.
