FABRIC ARTS
Sherron Belk

Special guest Sherron Belk will present “Women in the Arts” focusing on the unique situations women experience in the art world. Sherron is a resident of Panama City who holds a Bachelor of Art and Architectural History degree as well as a Masters in Business degree. Her background includes world travel and living over seas for 17 years. Her past studies include a focus on Georgia O’Keefe. As an artist, Sherron enjoys painting in oil and watercolor, particularly seascapes.

The PCA meeting will follow the program.

PCA March Workshop

Comic Book Art, Cartooning, & Graphic Storytelling

Instructed by Tim Riley

Saturday, March 13th, 9am-12noon

Local comic artist Tim Riley will give a 3 hour “crash course” in telling stories through the comic medium.

The workshop will cover the history and art techniques of comic book creation and cartooning, along with advice on topics ranging

from copyrights to self-publishing. Bring whatever pens, pencils, paper, etc., you feel comfortable drawing with—
Tim will be providing additional paper, and actual comic book art pages for participants to work on—same as the “pros” use.

Free for PCA Members, $30 Nonmembers can opt for yearly membership.

You are encouraged to bring art and portfolios for critique and advice on your work
from a “30+ year comic industry insider”.

Special Meeting

The PCA Community Involvement Team is meeting Saturday, March 13, at 1:30pm, at the Main Street Gallery of Art on Harrison Avenue.

All PCA members are invited. Please come to this meeting if can help with or have ideas for:

* Helping with, expanding, and participating in the Art in Public Places program
* Improving the Art in Businesses Program
* Representing PCA with community organizations
* PCA Scholarship
* The 2010 PCA fundraiser
* PCA’s group participation and volunteering at the Downtown Festival of Arts and other festivals
* Community Service Projects
* Volunteer needed to chair 2 exhibits at the Library
