Marina Civic Center Exhibit

Members of the Panama City Artists will be exhibiting at the Marina Civic Center from November 12th thru December 12th. The Marina Civic Center is located at 8 Harrison Ave. Panama City, FL and their business hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.

2nd Annual Celebration of the Arts

The Panama City Artists & FSU Panama City are presenting the 2nd Annual Celebration of the Arts on Saturday, October 6th 2007 from 10am - 5pm at the FSU Panama City Campus.

Local artists and art students are invited to participate in a unique opportunity to showcase their work. The Panama City Artists (PCA) and Florida State University Panama City (FSU PC) have partnered to bring you the 2nd Annual Celebration of the Arts, a one-day outdoor event at FSU PC. The event will highlight the visual, performing and culinary arts in our community.

    Exhibit Guidelines:

- All exhibiting visual artists must be members of PCA. Individual membership is $25.
- The membership fee will be waived for FSU or GCCC students.
- Exhibiting artists are responsible for:
1. Obeying any intellectual property copyright laws, showing only their works.
2. Cleaning their exhibit area at the conclusion of the event.
3. Collecting the proper sales tax on any work sold.
4. Providing only artwork that is appropriate for an all-ages audience.

- FSU PC and the PCA organization are not responsible for any loss or damage incurred during this event.

6th Annual PCA Show & Sale

The opening reception for the 6th Annual Panama City Artists Show & Sale will be held this Friday, March 2nd, at the Visual Arts Center starting at 6pm. Admission to the public is free, and the exhibit will be on display through March 30th. Twenty-nine PCA members will have works on display, ranging from painting to pottery and various other mediums.

The Visual Arts Center is located at 19 East 4th Street in downtown Panama City. Normal gallery hours are 10am-4pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am-8pm on Tuesday and Thursday and from 1pm-5pm on Saturday.

Covenant Hospice 2007 Mask Parade

The Covenant Hospice presents the 2007 Mask Parade that will be on display downtown. Please take a look at some of the masks that will be on display by several of our members as well as other local artists and celebrities

The walking tour will be Friday, February 16th, 2007 it will begin at 3:30 pm at the Visual Arts Center (19th East 4th St) and will continue on to Estate Treasures, Bay Bank & Trust, and will end at Medeo Exquisite Gifts (524 Harrison Ave.)

The masks will be on display until March 1st, 2007.

Meeting this Week

The next PCA meeting will be held on this Tuesday, November 21st at the Visual Arts Center’s main gallery starting at 6:30pm. We will be voting on the 2007 Board members. PCA Vice President Betty Kearney has provided us with information on the program for next Tuesday’s meeting.

Is Christmas is only a turn of the calendar away! Tuesday’s PCA program could be the solution to making that “ little something” for someone you want to remember this Christmas.
Beverly Bush, who for twenty years has studied and taught “One Stroke” painting techniques, will begin demonstrating at 6:30 Tuesday night. Beverly will share “How To” do beautiful hand painted ornaments and other holiday treasures. This method of painting transfers easily into all media. We will have a short question and answer period beginning at 7 so come early and check out “One Stroke” painting with Beverly Bush, Tuesday, November 21 in the main Gallery at the Visual Arts Center.
